Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Release: Start Time Revealed

The Zelda Tears of the Kingdom start time has been revealed... at least it seems like it. But as usual with Nintendo, nothing is completely straightforward.

On May 12, we're finally getting Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. And if you're not excited for that, you're no friend of mine. If you have already pre-ordered the game, you will most likely want to know when exactly you can start your new adventure in Hyrule. Well, read on to find out!

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Start Time - When Can You Play The Game

When the digital version of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom will go live is not quite clear yet. However, there is one big clue. On a support page, Nintendo explains that "Digital software that is also sold physically will usually be available at 9:00 p.m. PT the night before the physical game's release date." So, the start time for Zelda Tears of the Kingdom should be at these times:

Now, there is one thing you need to consider here. This is Zelda we're talking about. So Nintendo could potentially make an exception here and release the game at a different time. We don't see any reason why they would, but hey... it's Nintendo. Those folks are unpredictable.

The company hasn't officially confirmed that these times will apply to Tears of the Kingdom, so enjoy this info with caution. But we assume they will just apply the normal rules to this game, even if it's a special one. If you're wondering about a possible pre-load: Nintendo hasn't said anything about that yet, unfortunately.

Tears of the Kingdom finally comes out on Switch on May 12. Until then, make sure you avoid those nasty spoilers that are flooding the internet right now and get acquainted with the many new Tears of the Kingdom characters that will be in the game.
