ARK: Survival Evolved gets its Unreal Engine 5 remake called Ark Survival Ascended, and it's now available in Early Access for PC. But it will also release on consoles as well and contain full mod support! Further below, you'll find everything the remake contains and when to expect the release on consoles.
With ARK: Survival Evolved , the devs Studio Wildcard, Grove Street Games and Instinct Games created a survival game that is second to none with the dinosaur setting. And ARK: Survival Ascended picks up on that feeling and delivers many different improvements with the Unreal Engine 5 upgrade.
The PC version is currently in Early Access and will remain so until the end of 2024. This extended period allows for necessary improvements and feedback from the community along the line as well. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S release has been delayed and is now scheduled for November without a set release date.
The reason for the delay:
To identify some critical issues in the multiplayer version of the game that would have had major implications for the console versions of the game.

ARK Survival Ascended: Picking Up Where It Has Left
With its former release on June 2, 2015, the technology, content and quality of life improvements surely had seen better days. But this belongs to the past, as the upgrade to Unreal Engine 5 not only promises a better overall look, but also some key improvements to the game.
- Complete recreation of the visuals and the ARK world as a whole.
- Using new graphic setting like Global Illumination or advanced mesh streaming to visualize the details in the world.
- New physics like dynamic water, or interactive foliage like smashing down a tree, and if other trees are in the way, it will smack them down as well and create a deepening in the ground.
- Redesigned UI, dynamic navigation, new camera, maps, and tracking systems but also completely new structures, items, and creatures.
- Available mod support with a Mod-browser within the game.
- Cross-Platform multiplayer with up to 70 players, private sessions with eight players or a local split screen experience
Beside of those things, ARK: Survival Ascended also includes the former expansions “The Island”, "Scorded Earth”, “Aberration”, “Extinction”, “ARK Genesis Part 1” and “ARK Genesis Part 2”.
