Codename Heron is gone, Control 2 is coming. Remedy, known for classics like Alan Wake or Max Payne, announced that Control will get another part. The supernatural action adventure game was a massive success when it released in 2019. Together with Italian publisher 505 Games, Remedy will release Control 2 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.

The game is in a very early stage and was already known formerly as Codename Heron. On November 11, Remedy CEO Tero Virtala statet: "I’m now proud to confirm that the bigger-budget Control game, also known as Codename Heron, is Control 2, a full-blown sequel to our award-winning game Control."

Control 2 Will Be "An Unexpected Journey" – Release Could Take A While

For anyone who doesn't know something about Control, we just can recommend you to play it. No spoilers, let us just tell you this much: you play as protagonist Jesse and are navigating a paranormal US government agency in an attempt to find out the truth about what happened to your brother.

It is dark, it is griddy, and it's full of surprises, so we won't go into much more details. Check out the trailer of the first part again.

The game director of the Control franchise, Mikael Kasurinen, has dropped a little more about Control 2 and what we can expect. "With Control 2, we’ll take another leap into the unknown. It’ll be an unexpected journey. It’ll take a while, but to put it mildly, this is the most exciting project I’ve ever worked on. It’s still early days, but it will be worth the wait."

Sounds good but if a game director is saying that it is in "it's early days", we will probably have to wait another few years until we can play it... shame! What will be released first... Control 2 or GTA 6?
