According to some rumors, the much awaited Gears of War Collection is currently being tested. Here is everything we know about Gears of War's MCC.
The Gears of War video game series , developed by Epic Games and later The Coalition, is a renowned third-person shooter franchise set in a gritty, war-torn science fiction universe. It debuted in 2006 on the Xbox platform and is probably one of the coolest Xbox exclusives after Halo. The series is known for its intense, cover-based combat, in which layers engage in visceral battles against the monstrous Locust Horde living inside the planet. But let's be real, the most popular feature of Gears of War is the iconic chainsaw bayonet used to cut your enemies in half...
The latest installment of the series was Gears of War 5 back in 2019, so obviously, fans are eagerly waiting for news on more Gears content. Luckily, there seems to be a Gears of War Collection in development, which was already leaked in 2022, and according to latest rumors, it already is being tested internally.
Gears of War Collection: Testing Started
In a recent episode of The Infinite Podcast, Middleagegamegy claimed that the Gears of War Collection is already being internally tested by developer The Coalition. According to him, the build of the collection is finished and developers and play-testers are already playing it.

While we don't know too much about the Gears of War Collection, it is rumored to recreate the classic Gears games in Unreal Engine 5 and most likely include the Gears of War Ultimate Edition (a rework of the first game), as well as Gears 2, 3, 4 and the spin-off Judgment. The best comparison is probably Halo's Master Chief Collection, that also recreated all the classic Halo games with better graphics and included Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, 3, 4, ODST and Reach.
There is no release for the Gears Collection window yet and also no official information on the platforms it will release for, but if we had to guess, we'd say it will release for Xbox and PC. Even though the series started as an Xbox exclusive, all games were ported to PC afterwards with the newer entries even being available for PC at launch.
Are you hyped for a Gears of War Collection? We can't wait to finally be able to slaughter some Locust in Unreal Engine 5 and relive the action-packed, over the top story of Marcus Phoenix and his buddy Dom. The Gears Collection also is the perfect time to ring up your co-op buddies again...
