You've obviously watched the GTA 6 trailer several times at this point, but have you been able to pick out all the jokes and references peppered in the background? Here are the ones we've found so far!
For decades, the Grand Theft Auto series has set a precedent for combining action-packed gameplay with a razor-sharp wit. From the neon-soaked streets of Vice City to the gritty realism of Los Santos, Rockstar Games has mastered the art of weaving satire and comedy into their narratives.
In this article, we embark on a journey through the latest GTA trailer, where we'll dissect the jokes and Easter eggs that we've found so far. So, fasten your seatbelts and prepare to dive headfirst into the fictional world of Leonida (Florida).
Pißwasser Is Back!
"Pißwasser" (German for "piss water") is a fictional brand of beer from Grand Theft Auto IV and its expansions, as well as Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online. And, it looks like Pißwasser is back again, as we can see from this shot at the 1:09 mark in the trailer:
To be precise, this is Pißwasser Nein, which is probably an alcohol-free variant?
America's Favorite Dissociative, "It Cures Emotions"
Exactly 1 minute into the trailer, we see a billboard for Angstipan, which is apparently America's Favorite Dissociative. And as the billboard explains, Angstipan "cures emotions!"
This isn't a reference to any particular medicine, but it's funny nonetheless, and you might have missed it.
Viral Videos From Florida
There are four clips we see that are actually recreations of real-life viral videos from Florida. These have been collected and compared to the real-life equivalents by Screentime on X, formerly Twitter:

Rockstar are leaning very heavily on social media and "viral fame" in GTA 6, and we're here for it.
Why Sixty Nine When You Can Nine One Nine?
We haven't figured this one out yet, but you can see a small plane trailing a banner about 15 seconds into the trailer, and the banner reads "WHY SIXTYNINE WHEN YOU CAN NINE 1 NINE". Here's the plane in question:
We all know what sixty-nine'ing is, but apparently it's pointless when you can just do the "nine 1 nine". So far, we have only found one lewd reference to what 919'ing might be. The adult actress Lisa Sparks broke a certain record with 919 men in 2004.
Don't go researching too deeply into this one...
Identified By "Impentinent" Tattoo
At the 1:05 mark in the trailer, we see an arrested man on a news channel, with a caption beneath that reads in Spanish:
"Confessions Written In Ink: A man from Leonida was betrayed by a tattoo on his neck, which was key in his conviction."
We think this is a reference to Courtney Lawrence, a man who had his nickname, which is literally "Murder", tattooed on his neck. Courtney "Murder" Lawrence plead guilty to the murder of Emmanuel Johnson in 2016.
We hope GTA 6 is packed with idiots like this.
Those were all the references and jokes from the background that we've found so far, but we're still actively searching for more. Let us know in the comments if we've missed any bangers.
