Breaking Bad is considered the best show of all time by many and with spinoffs like El Camino and Better Call Saul, the show has become its very own franchise. Is there another spinoff on the horizon? Actor Giancarlo Esposito would be down for "The Rise of Gus", at least!
Breaking Bad may not be the perfect show, but comes pretty close: intriguing characters, a thrilling plot and shocking twists just make for a great series (the most shocking thing to me? The bonkers amount of hate Skylar gets for pretty reasonable reactions to the absolute mess of a life Walt has created, but I digress).
Better Call Saul, the spinoff about the ruthless lawyer we met in Breaking Bad and the explanation how he became the man we got to know along with Walter White, fleshed out the BB-universe even more. According to Giancarlo Esposito (Gustavo Fring in both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul) now proposes the next spinoff: about Gus, obviously!
"The Rise Of Gus Is Interesting" | Giancarlo Esposito Would Be Down
Variety got a hold of Giancarlo Esposito on the red carpet and asked the question of all questions: is there another spinoff coming? The answer came instantly: "I think there eventually should be, and there might be."

Obviously, though, he has to advocate for himself and his character, so he does:
I have a lot of premises I like to push. If I was talking to Vince Gilligan right now, I would tell him: The Rise of Gus. [...] To find out: what are the pieces that made up Gustavo Fring, and where did he come from in terms of his relationship to the hierarchy in Chile, would be very interesting, and to see his family background.
As Vince Gilligan, the creator of everything Breaking Bad, is currently working on another show, Esposito is willing to wait a few years.
The problem many fans see with that? The cruelty of time itself. While Gus surely is an interesting character, Giancarlo Esposito might be too old to portray him in his younger years if it ever comes to another spinoff. We aren't opposed to the idea, though!
