Everyone's favorite murderbot gets to go on a new rampage soon! ULTRAKILL developers New Blood Interactive have just announced that a major content update is coming to the game "before the end of the year" (i.e. this month), introducing the next Layer of Hell: Violence.

Somewhat ironically, the black-and-white environments in the gameplay footage shared of the Violence Layer so far makes it look a lot more peaceful than the other layers. At least until you meet the Mannequins, but they're an experience best left unspoiled. Either way, the new environments and enemy types look promising already!

What Is ULTRAKILL?

ULTRAKILL is an extremely fast-paced arcade shooter with a heavy focus on trick shots and parrying bullets with your bare fists. You play as V1, a killer robot literally fueled by the blood of its enemies, and use its ever-growing arsenal of firearms and robot arms to violently carve a path through the many layers of hell. The game's title definitely isn't just for show!

ULTRAKILL is still in Early Access, but it's already considered a not-so-hidden gem of the genre – and for good reason: It shouldn't take much more than shooting a coin in midair and killing an enemy with it, or parrying your own shotgun blast, to get you hooked. If you're a fan of arena shooters and/or gratuitous violence and are looking for a real challenge, you'll probably feel right at home in this game.
