The quarter-finals of the League of Legends World Championship 2023 have come to an end, but fans of one team are not happy with the way their jungler performed – and are letting everyone know.
One team was left to play to create history of a stacked semi-final with teams from a single region participating. Weibo Gaming, BiliBili Gaming and JDG were already primed and locked in, with only the third seeded LPL team, LNG, needing to win against the most storied org in LoL esports – T1.
Unfortunately, things did not go to plan and LNG is the only Chinese team to head home after a disappointing quarter-final match. Fans have also expressed their frustration, especially with one player – Lee "Tarzan" Seung-yong.
LoL Worlds 2023: Fans Frustrated With Jungler Performance At Worlds Quarter-Finals
Tarzan joined LNG ahead of the 2021 League of Legends season. He's been a staple on the team since then and has made Worlds in 2021 and in 2023 with the squad.
This year was the team's best performance at the tournament and LNG was hailed to be one of the best teams, even taking JDG to a 5-game series during the LPL Summer Finals. Expectations were high.
During the tournament, LNG's mid laner Lee "Scout" Ye-chan was hailed as the best player of the tournament, but the team did not manage to overcome T1 in the quarter-finals, with both Scout and Tarzan making crucial mistakes which cost them the series.
Tarzan is receiving a lot of added hate, being known as someone who 'chokes' when it comes to big games as well. This paired with one horrible series against T1 has caused fans to completely throw in the towel, even going as far as to say, "if any LPL team signs this fraud next split, I will be the hater of that team forever."

While this was just one series in his career, fans believe that Tarzan tends to show his nerves on stage when there is a big match, which is why frustration has boiled over within the community, especially on Chinese social media sites.
It'll be interesting to see which roster moves LNG is set to make in the off-season. Tarzan's contract expires in late November 2023. Will he return to Korea or is he going to try and find a new team in the LPL for the 2024 season?
