LoL Worlds 2023: Faker Holds Mindblowing Record Over LPL Teams

With the 2023 LoL Worlds heading into the semi-finals, the only Korean team left is T1. But this could be a good thing, especially considering this record Faker holds against LPL teams.

Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok is the most famous League of Legends player in the world. He's playing in his eighth LoL World Championship, having never finished lower than the semi-finals at the tournament. He's won three Worlds titles and is unarguably the GOAT of League.

With such prestige, there are some other records he's got under his belt as well, and one of them is his impressive win rate against LPL teams at any World Championship.

The fact that Faker has won more titles than anyone else and that he has managed to be at the top of every international and regional championship is just insane. He started playing 10 years ago and is now at his eighth World Championship.

While the last time he won Worlds was in 2016, T1 looks very strong in the current state, especially after their dominant victory over the LPL's LNG.

Faker also has an impressive win rate against LPL teams at Worlds. Never before has Faker lost a best-of series to an LPL team during the tournament. The only regions which have bested him are other LCK teams and LEC teams, but Faker has had the LPL's number throughout the 10-years that he's been playing.

With both KT Rolster and Gen.G failing to make it into the 2023 World Championship semi-finals, T1 is the only non-LPL team left in the running for World Champion and with a record like the one Faker has, it's looking good for the team.

Of course, they will first have to face off against JDG, who are on the way to being the first team to complete the "golden road", winning all their regional splits, as well as MSI and Worlds.

T1 and JDG will face off on Sunday, November 12, 2023. Weibo Gaming and Bilibili Gaming will play the first semi-final on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
