Does Road House need a remake? No. Does it get one anyway? Yes, of course. Courtesy of Prime Video! Here's everything you need to know about the new Road House, including the release date, the wild cast and more.
Remakes and reboots are a curious thing: they can either be the best thing to happen to a fandom, or they can completely destroy the legacy of a good story. While we're praying for Battlestar Galactica's reboot to not disappoint long time fans, Prime Video went ahead and gave us a Road House remake.
Why, you may ask? Road House was good as it is right now, Patrick Swayze and all, right? Well, now Jake Gyllenhaal gets a go at playing the bouncer, but one thing at a time.
Road House Remake | Trailer & Release Date
Road House comes to Prime Video on March 21, 2024, and has a runtime of slightly over two hours of action-packed bouncer action or rather, as the description reads:
"In this adrenaline-fueled reimagining of the 80s cult classic, ex-UFC fighter Dalton takes a job as a bouncer at a Florida Keys roadhouse, only to discover that this paradise is not all it seems."
Jake Gyllenhaal And Conor McGregor Star In Road House Remake
I miss Swayze like everyone else, but let's focus on the important parts, alright?
Jake Gyllenhaal has big shoes to fill as Elwood Dalton, a professional when it comes to giving out beatings. Real professional MMA-fighter Conor McGregor also joins the cast as Knox and chances are that he and Dalton aren't the best of friends.
Daniela Melchior plays Ellie, following in Kelly Lynch's footsteps. The cast also includes Billy Magnussen, Jessica Williams, Darren Barnet, Arturo Castro and Lukas Gage.
