Brand Visual Effects Update Confirmed

Brand is one of the older support champions and while he hasn't been meta in centuries he's still a fan favorite. Now, Riot confirms that he well got some new looks with a Visual Effects Update (VFX).

Brand has been around in League of Legends for over 10-years already, with little to no change to his abilities. He's become one of the most iconic champions in the game and is one of the most annoying champions to go up against in the bot lane, even if he's rarely ever meta.

Now, Riot want to give him a little face lift. Similar to what was done in 2022 with a Janna VFX update or an Orianna update, Riot is going to adjust some of his visual effects.

Brand Visual Effect Update

We got a first look at the VFX update and all its affected skins in comparison. Riot will add a clean look on Brand's Passive, as well as his other abilities, making sure that his abilities are easier to differentiate. And for a good reason, since Brand is one of the champions who is a literal nightmare for colorblind people, especially with the iconic Zombie Brand skin. Unfortunately, there is no release date yet for the upcoming VFX update, even if Riot has already confirmed that Brand will definitely get one. We can for sure expect it to be released in 2024, though.

VFX, or visual effects, are an important part when it comes to League of Legends champions.

VFX refers to the dynamic and visually stunning elements that enhance the game's visuals and make abilities, spells, and attacks more impactful. VFX includes various particle effects, explosions, auras, and animations that bring champions, their skills, and the game world to life with eye-catching and immersive visual spectacle.

In the trailer for Naafiri there were a few scenes in which we could see her fighting against other champions and one of those was Brand. In the scenes we can see Brand using his Q, E and W with much clearer and more realistic visuals.

This was already a hint that we're going to be getting a VFX update for the champion very soon. It also means that his skins are going to receive some updates to the effects of his abilities as well, since Riot usually tackles a champions skins as well as the base skin when doing these updates.

Last year, a couple of champions, like the aforementioned Janna and Orianna, received these types of updates which often help with clarity. Therefore, it makes total sense that Riot picks some older champions every year and updates their VFX.
