Some of League of Legends' older champions are still quite popular and are getting picked in a bunch of matches throughout the years. However, even if their gameplay is liked by a lot of players, their looks aren’t really up-to-date anymore. Two of them, are getting a bit of a glow-up pretty soon.
I mean, he will probably not look as clean as the picture above, however Lee Sin will be one of the two champions who will receive an ASU during the 2024 season. Even though this is still some time in the future, we can still take a look at what the changes will bring.
Both champions are probably the most memeable ones in LoL, which doesn’t mean, they do not deserve at least some love regarding their appearances.
Let's dive straight into it!
LoL: Lee Sin And Teemo Will Get Their Well-Deserved ASUs
Let's address the elephant in the room: What is an ASU
ASU means Art and Sustainability Update. They are a great way to modernize older champions and give them a little glow-up! The overall look and feel of said champions will be much cleaner and smoother, resulting in a much better gameplay experience. The champion's abilities however, will stay untouched.
The last one who received an ASU was Ahri, with great results! She really looks like a brand-new champion now and especially her older skins can shine again.
Megan “Ze Ocelot” O’Rourke, who is a Concept Artist at Riot Games, is the one in charge of Lee Sin's and Teemo update. In one of the most recent Dev articles, she is explaining, what her goals for the future of both champions are, as well as the main issues right now.
Let's take a look at our first candidate.
Lee Sin's ASU
Our favorite monk will be the first one to receive his ASU. For now, it is scheduled for the first half of 2024, which can still be changed later on.

The first thing will definitely be Lee Sin's proportions, which are a bit all over the place right now, she mentioned. Her plan is it to give him much more recognizable silhouette, by enhancing one of his key features: his braid.
“Freeing up his braid would not only help his overall silhouette but also add an extra area of interest in terms of animation and design.”
Regarding Lee Sin's outfit, there won't be much of a change. Since the overall vibe is already what they were going for, his clothes will stay roughly the same.
His body looks way more defined and not too bulky, just like a well-trained monk would look like!
The next step is to update Lee Sin's animations. Possibly you've noticed it too, but Lee Sin has a very strange hit box! Even Riot noticed that, which is why this will also be adjusted!
The final thing Riot wants to change is Lee Sin's overall flow. He is way too clunky for being an elegant, Ionian monk and his movements aren't really representing a great martial artist. To fix his weird movements, Riot is planning on working together with a real and trained martial artist, to make his overall feel much better.
"With the ASU, we want to make Lee feel like a true professional warrior monk while maintaining the gameplay feel that his mains have fallen in love with".
Sounds like Riot is really putting thought into this upcoming new Lee Sin! He is a fairy popular champion and definitely deserves some extra attention!
Teemo's ASU
Even if Teemo is not the most loved champion in League of Legends, he is still in need of a new look! He can't be annoying AND ugly … He is going to receive his ASU during the second half of 2024.

Teemo is a Yordle and Yordles are quite small! Don't worry, Teemo won't be much bigger by any means, however, he will grow at least a little. In order to make Teemo much more unique, Riot decided to make his limbs just a little longer. This allows for way more movement and an updated walking animation!
"Within these longer limbs, we’re also giving Teemo more joints for a larger range of motion, including in his hat tuft and backpack."
Other than that, Riot claims that there are no real issues with Teemo's overall look and that he will still be the fluffy Yordle he is now. They describe his updates as followed: “In a way, “HD Teemo” is pretty accurate!”
The much more exciting part will be Teemo's new face animations! Next to his whole body, which is getting rigged all over again, his face will have a bunch of new expressions. Spamming your emotes will be much more fun like that!
Over all, Teemo is not having the same magical feel of a Yordle as of right now. If you look at Lulu or Heimerdinger, you know what I mean. Hopefully, he will fit in better with his Yordle friends after his update!
