Ever since Riot introduced Clash globally back in 2020, it has been an exciting event for everyone who wants to get the feel of a competitive LoL tournament. However, the first split of 2023 is slowly coming to an end and Riot has revealed some much-needed changes regarding Clash in split 2.
During the last years, Clash had definitely its ups and downs. Whether it was completely down, some players didn't get into their matches, or something was wrong with the loot, Clash is arguably one of Riot's problem children.
However, Riot has great plans for the second Clash split in 2023, which should fix at least some of said issues! Along with that, we get the complete Clash schedule for the rest of 2023 and even some new rewards!
Let's head straight into the Clash changes for the second split in 2023!
LoL: Riot's Plans For Clash In Split 2
There are multiple changes regarding the future of Clash ahead of us, with the most important one being the new rewards. Next to that, we will see less Clash weekends in the near future and our beloved ARAM Clash will be back for the second split as well.

Clash Frequency
Even though this may sound like a negative change at first, in the long run it will be very much in the players' interest. Riot plans on reducing the total amount of Clash weekends from 20 in 2022 to just 14 in 2023. Since the first split is almost over, there are just five clash weekends left for the second part of 2023.
However, due to reducing the total number of clash days for the following months, Riot expects a much higher participation rate at said five events. This will lead to way less balancing issues, and you will be matched with teams closer to your team’s skill level.
Riot definitely prioritizes quality over quantity with said changes!
Clash Rewards
Each and every one of us who played Clash before, knows how painful it is to lose the first game. Why you may ask? — Since there are no rewards for other placings than first and second ones, a lot of team just leave their bracket after just one loss. This results in long waiting periods for teams who want to continue playing even after losing their first game.
Thankfully riot finally listened to us and is adjusting the clash rewards for future events. Rather than getting rewarded due to your team's overall placement, you will now get loot depending on how many games you won in total. Means, there will be much better rewards for places three and four! Let's take a closer look at them:
Basic Ticket Orb:
- 0 WINS / 3 LOSSES → 3 Win XP Boost, 1 Mastery Icon, 1 Clash Logo
- 1 WIN / 2 LOSSES → 1 Mystery Emote, 640 Ward Skin, 1 Clash Logo
- 2 WINS / 1 LOSS → 640 Ward Skin, 975 Skin Shard,1 Mystery Icon, 1 Mystery Emote, 1 Clash Logo, 1 Basic Ticket
- 3 WINS / 0 LOSSES → 640 Ward Skin, 975 Skin Shard, 1350 Skin Shard, 1 Mastery Icon, 1 Mystery Emote, 1 Chibi Icon, 1 Clash Logo, 1 Basic Ticket
Premium Ticket Orb:
- 0 WINS / 3 LOSSES → 1 Basic Ticket, 500 Orange Essence, 750 Skin Shard, 1 Logo
- 1 WIN / 2 LOSSES → 1 Basic Ticket, 500 Orange Essence, 750 Skin Shard, 975 Skin Shard, 1350 Skin Shard, 1 Logo

Personally, I think rewarding people on how many games they won instead of their ranking is way fairer and motivates them to continue playing even if the first game was lost.
ARAM Clash Will Be Back
Even though it's hard to believe, the first ARAM clash that Riot hosted was one of the most successful Clash events to date.

Given that, Riot promises to give us at least two ARAM Clash Weekends per year, which will have an improved Champ Select.
Clash Schedule For Split 2
Since the first split of 2023 is coming to an end, we have to take a loot at the upcoming Clash days for the second half of the year. Get your calendar and marker ready, here are the next Clash appointments for 2023:
