With the beginning of Season 14 in League of Legends, we got tons of new items for every role. And one of them is for marksmen called Terminus. We're here to tell you everything you need to know about it.
With the start of Season 14, we also got tons of new items. And one of them is specifically designed for on-hit marksmen, who need some penetration. We're talking about the new item Terminus, which is therefore competing with other Last Whisper items like Lord Dominik's Regards and Mortal Reminder.
Terminus – Stats & Build
Terminus is a really niche and kind of strange item. It grants you AD, AS, as well as two passives.
The first passive Shadow let's you deal 30 bonus magic damage on-hit with basic attacks.
The crazy part, however, lies within the second passive Juxtaposition. Basic attacks against champions alternate between Light and Dark hits, each one granting a bonus for 5 seconds that stacks up to 5 times. Light hits grant 3-5 (based on level) bonus armor and bonus MR while Dark hits grant 6% armor penetration and magic penetration, for a total of 14-25 (based on level) bonus resistances and 30% resistances penetration at max stacks of each.
Terminus Build
To build Terminus, you'll need the following items:
- Recurve Bow (item + 400 gold)
- Dagger (300 gold)
- B.F. Sword (1300 gold)
- Dagger (300 gold)
- 700 gold
As you can see, even if Terminus falls under the category of anti-armor items, you don't build Last Whisper. All the penetration comes from Juxtaposition, not the stats itself.
Champions That Should Build Terminus
Terminus is basically tailor-made for those on-hit marksmen who love spamming auto-attacks like there's no tomorrow. Think champs like Kog'Maw or Varus – they can squeeze some value out of it in certain situations.
But let's be real, generally speaking, we're not waving the flag for this item. To unleash its full potential, you gotta land 10 Auto Attacks in a short span. In the current meta where burst is the name of the game, that's like asking for trouble.
Our advice? Skip Terminus and opt for other armor-pen goodies like LDR or Mortal Reminder. Terminus seriously needs a little love in the buff department.
