MSI 2023 is going to be taking place in London, England throughout the month of May, with 13 participating teams from all over the world. In 2023, Riot is going to be making some major changes to the format, with fans calling for more meaningful best of three and best of five games.

Therefore, Riot will invite two teams from the LPL, LCK, LEC and LCS, along with the usual representatives of minor regions to the tournament. With G2 Esports having won the 2023 LEC Winter Split they've qualified to at least the play-in stage, but who will represent NA?

MSI 2023: First NA Team Has Qualified For International Tournament

While G2 Esports was the first team to qualify for the tournament, on March 30, 2023, a second team has finally cemented their spot and booked their flight to London, England. Whether they'll play in the Play-in Stage or will be participating in the Bracket Stage right away is yet to be decided.

Joining G2 Esports is none other than the hope of NA. Cloud9 faced off against second-place FlyQuest in the LCS Upper Bracket Playoffs to see who would immediately qualify for the Grand-Finals in Raleigh, North Carolina on April 9, 2023.

Cloud9 managed to get the upper hand in all three of their games against FlyQuest, earning themselves a dominant 3-0 victory over their competitors. This win cements them a spot in the finals and in London, while three other LCS teams still have a chance of representing North America.

On March 31, 2023 Golden Guardians and Evil Geniuses will play at LCS studio to determine which team is going to play in Raleigh against FlyQuest in the Lower Bracket Finals that take place a day before the Grand Finals.

The second-place finisher of the Grand Finals will also be heading to London in May. Evil Geniuses and Golden Guardians will play at 2:00 p.m. PT (5 p.m. ET). The games can be viewed on the official LCS Twitch and YouTube channel.
