Riot finally revealed the name of their fighting game, formerly called Project L. The game will be called 2XKO and we also know what platforms it will release on as well as the release window.
Riot Games' fighting games has been in development for quite some time already and can even be tested at EVO Japan in April. However, up until today, it was still called Project L, which obviously was just a working title. Now they finally announced the name, which platforms it will release on and at least a release year. Let's have a look.
Riot Fighting Game Called 2XKO
In a short video on socials as well as on the Riot website, the name of the upcoming League of Legends fighting game was announced as 2XKO. Considering the game is a 2v2 tag-based fighting game, this name is pretty self-explanatory... I personally would have liked a name with real words in it, but hey, I am old and the younger generations might prefer short, catchy titles like that 👴.

2XKO Platforms
2XKO will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. I do feel a bit sad for all the poor gamers out there still playing on Xbox One or PS4, but to be fair the current consoles have been out for quite some time and at some point the devs just have to move away from older platforms. Of course, you can still ask why the game isn't also coming to last gen consoles. After all, 2XKO doesn't look like it will push an Xbox One or PS4 to its limits...
If you hoped to be able to play 2XKO on Switch, we have to disappoint you. But be honest with yourself, you didn't really expect this game to come to Switch, right? If you still want to play Riot's fighting game on a handheld, you should be able to do so on a Steam Deck. We will let you know as soon as we can test it ourselves.
2XKO Release Window
While we didn't get an exact release date for 2XKO, it was said that it will release in 2025. If you can't wait and just have to test it before, you can either do so at EVO Japan which will take place from April 27–29, 2024 in Tokyo or you can sign up for playtests. Remember that you have to sign up again, even if you have done so before. The playtests will probably take place later this year.
