Bloodborne Fans Left Devastated After Sony State of Play

Sony’s latest State of Play showcase has once again left Bloodborne fans empty-handed, as a PC version or remaster have still not been announced.

Bloodborne came out in 2015 and is inarguably one of the greatest games ever made. FromSoftware has made many masterpieces, like Elden Ring, Dark Souls or Armored Core VI, but Bloodborne might still be their best game.

The iconic classic only has one issue: it’s an early PS4 game and is stuck on that platform. Considering the game’s imperfect performance, fans have spent nearly a decade asking for a Bloodborne PC version or remaster of any kind. However, Sony once again disappointed them.

Bloodborne Once Again Ignored By Sony In Latest State Of Play

On January 31, Sony held a State of Play showcase where they presented over 15 games, like Rise of the Ronin, Death Stranding 2 or an Until Dawn remaster. Hideo Kojima even announced a brand-new game! Pretty exciting stuff, except for Bloodborne fans: their pleas for a re-release were once again ignored.

This went down about as well as you’d imagine. Immediately after the show ended, Twitter/X was flooded with one hilarious post after another, showing the sadness, frustration, and resilience of this community.

At this point, it’s just baffling that Sony is completely ignoring this. The community backlash is consistently visible and growing (Bloodborne trends on Twitter/X around every PlayStation show) and it would be an easy W for Sony. It was also a really successful release for the publisher, as leaked data revealed that it had sold over 7.5 million copies.

Here’s hoping (read: copium) that Sony still does have some plans with Bloodborne. Maybe a full-on remake, like Demon’s Souls got. But honestly, who really wants that? A simple, nice remaster would make everyone happy.
