Diablo Developers Send 30 Million Maggots To England

Greetings from Duriel, King of Maggots! In his name, the developers of Diablo are sending 30 million maggots to England — not as a joke, but for a good cause.

In honor of Earth Day on April 22, 2024, the development team behind Diablo 4 has come up with a creative fundraising initiative. And it involves 30 million maggots.

From Pixels To Pounds: Diablo's Maggot Campaign

Once upon a time, the Diablo developers launched a campaign on X (Twitter), in the name of Duriel, the King of Maggots:

The campaign received a positive response, with many likes pouring in. The developers documented the milestones, celebrating the 6.66 million maggot mark with a particularly nasty video (if maggots don't happen to count to your favorite animals). The campaign ended at 666 buckets, or about 30 million maggots. The goal of the campaign, which benefits Tiggywinkles, an organization in England that specializes in rescuing and caring for wildlife, is to provide food for rescued birds for more than two years. In addition to numerous puns, the Diablo 4 community has also expressed its enthusiasm for the initiative and, amusingly, for the maggots themselves.

It's worth noting that the maggots are apparently not cheap. "@TheLimpingMerc" mentions that each maggot costs about 1 pound. The Diablo developers take this in stride, humorously asking if a price could be set for the joy of eating maggots.Overall, this is a wonderful initiative by the Diablo 4 developers, and we wish the birds bon appétit!
