Capcom has unveiled upcoming updates for Dragon's Dogma 2, addressing various aspects of the game – but they left out one significant point.
Dragon's Dogma 2 did not have an easy start —bad Steam reviews and disappointed players who were angry about the game's poor performance and tacked-on microtransactions overshadowed the release of a game that is in many ways absolutely brilliant. Now, Capcom has announced an update that addresses most of the issues. But of all things, the patch does not fix the bad frame rate.
To all Dragon's Dogma 2 players! We're planning to release patches including the following updates and fixes in the near future, and will release them as soon as they are ready for distribution on each platform.Thank you for your patience and support! pic.twitter.com/aQoV3URH4C

Dragon's Dogma 2 Patch Addresses New Savegames, Character Customization And Raytracing
A big part of the update is the ability to start a new game, even with an existing save. This feature was surprisingly absent from the original release and has been the subject of much criticism.
In addition, Capcom will increase the availability of Art of Metamorphosis items in Pawn Guilds to 99. These items allow for character customization and are part of the game's purchasable microtransactions. They can also be acquired in-game.
Players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S will be able to enjoy graphical and performance enhancements. These include toggles for motion blur and ray tracing, as well as the ability to switch between variable and maximum 30fps frame rates.
No Frame Rate Fix — Yet
Capcom acknowledges player criticism regarding frame rate issues, which have been attributed to the CPU load of numerous complex NPCs. While the upcoming toggles may not have an impact on frame rate, significant improvements are promised for future updates.
Still, gamers have questions about why so many AAA titles are released in an unfinished state.
Like Jedi Survivor, Arkham Knights, The Last of Us Part 1 PC and MANY other AAA games, Dragon's Dogma 2 has entered its post-launch cycle. Here, issues that should not have made it to release are going to be addressed to varying degrees over the next year. This is the new normal. https://t.co/kqMB1ahbW1
