Dragonsplague is a disease that can only be contracted by pawns in Dragon's Dogma 2. It's contagious and can jump from one pawn to another in your party. It will eventually cause them to wipe out the town you're resting in, killing every villager and saving your game in the process. So this is something you really want to avoid.

Dragonsplague Protection: The Steam Community Provides a Clever Solution

The Steam community has come up with a clever solution to quickly identify an infected Pawn and, ideally, avoid recruiting them. The idea is that if you have an infected member of your party, you want to let them go and give them something rotten to go with it. Whether it's a piece of rotten meat or just a rotten apple, you can easily get both items in-game to warn other players about the Dragonsplague.

So, in the future, if you see a red-eyed Pawn in the rift with a rotten item in their inventory, it's best to leave them alone.

You'll have to take some pretty drastic measures if you want to cure your main Pawn of the Dragonsplague, as it can only be healed by death. This means that you will have to throw it off a cliff or into deep water. But don't worry – it will come back to life at the next Rift Stone.
