Thanks to a recently published article by Insider Gaming, we now have insights into the upcoming release of the new game, the next stages in its continued development post-release, and the anticipated initial release date.

New Genre Coming Up For Prince of Persia
Interestingly, Ubisoft aims to release the new Prince of Persia as a Rogue-lite. For this, they have hired the development team Evil Empire. This team is well-known for their smash hit Dead Cells, which is a really popular title in the genre that offers a thrilling mix of excitement and action. Therefore, Evil Empire are referred to as the roguelite specialists. If you've never heard of Dead Cells, you should definitely give it a try!
Typical for the rogue genre, the game will likely be released as a side-scroller. But maybe they will also incorporate some 3D elements, like in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown?
The game has been in development for 4 years already and is expected to be released as Early Access on Steam by the end of the year. Unfortunately, no specific release date has been provided yet.
