Modders have been working for the past few months to get GTA 5 running on the Nintendo Switch. They've succeeded in their efforts, but unfortunately, the game's graphics have suffered significantly.
Following the leak of the GTA 5 source code in December 2023, modders were empowered to unleash their creativity. Even Superstar South did not miss this opportunity.
Super South has been working to make GTA 5 playable on the Nintendo Switch. Given that Rockstar Games has launched the game for nearly every modern console except the Switch, modders have made it their mission to achieve this goal.
Modders Bring GTA 5 To Nintendo Switch
GTA 5 has been launched on almost every gaming console except for the Nintendo Switch. This is likely because the developers would have to make significant compromises to ensure the game's performance, considering the Switch's less powerful hardware compared to other consoles. However, the modders at Super South have undertaken the challenge of enabling gameplay on this console as well. So far, they have managed to make the prologue playable, but the game's graphics have significantly suffered.
Obviously you want to at least see how far we got...(the recording is not as smooth when compared to hardware video output) pic.twitter.com/y0oSRterbD

According to the modders, the video they shared supposedly stutters heavily only due to the recording, but it remains unclear how smoothly it would normally run. Another major issue is the game's crashes, which are evident in the video as well.Nevertheless, the modders have made significant progress, considering the game was previously plagued by constant crashes. However, there's always the possibility that Rockstar Games may abandon the project, as the code still relies on a leak.
