Worries about GTA 6 getting delayed are unfounded, claims a new report.
A recent report suggested that GTA 6 might be in trouble. Development was not going as well as anticipated and issues started arising after employees were forced back into offices. The report was as far as to say that this might even lead to GTA 6 being delayed from fall 2025, the targeted release window, into 2026.
This caused quite an uproar online and even had an impact in the wonderful world of economics. Shares of the publisher Take-Two, which owns GTA developer Rockstar Games, dropped by a significant 5.2% following the report. However, a new write-up by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier clarifies some things on the matter.
GTA 6 Might Not Be Delayed After All
At least in terms of getting GTA 6 out there with the degree of perfection that these games always strive for, things still seem to be going somewhat alright at Rockstar. Schreier is trying to bring some light into the story, saying that “video games are always behind schedule and risk getting delayed at any time”. While this might not soothe worried fans, he correctly emphasizes that it is “impossible” to state now if the game will be ready by the end of 2025 or not.
The possibility of a delay can never be fully denied. Developing video games is extremely complex, especially one as massive as GTA 6. Schreier says one Rockstar developer described the production of the title as “chaos”, but that is nothing new in the industry. It currently looks like fall 2025 is still on track to be the GTA 6 release window, but things might always change in the future.
