Have you ever dreamed of living in a Hobbit cave and leading a simple yet fulfilling life? Say no more, we have good news for you! The new game Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game based on the world-famous book and movie series is a peaceful living simulation with building elements.

Embark On A Peaceful Journey In Tales Of The Shire

You take control of a male or female Hobbit whose appearance (including feet, of course!) you choose at the beginning of the game. You will then be able to decorate your own cave under the mountain, gather resources such as mushrooms, engage in activities like fishing, and do what Hobbits do best: enjoy life.

As envisioned by J.R.R. Tolkien, Tales of the Shire aims to portray all facets of Hobbit life — which typically does not include fierce battles against orcs or journeys into the depths of Moria.

Developed by Weta Workshop (the CGI artists behind the films) and distributed by Private Division, the game focuses instead on lazy strolls through the beautifully rendered Shire. You'll bake cakes or tend to your garden, where you can grow all sorts of herbs and plants.

According to the announcement, Tales of the Shire aims to be warm and welcoming, with a release scheduled for the second half of 2024, hopefully just in time for some cozy fall evenings. The game is releasing on PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
