Respawn Entertainment is working on an upcoming Star Wars game. The game is going to feature a fast pace and focus on style according to sources and will play in the Mandalorian universe.
Good news for Star Wars fans! A first person Mandalorian shooter seems to be in the works currently, according to sources at Insider Gaming. This is going to be an upcoming title by Respawn Entertainment, who also worked on Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Surviror.
There was some uncertainty whether the title would come to fruition after creative director Mohammad Alavi left the studio to pursue other goals. Now, it's been revealed that the rumors of this game getting canceled were false and Respawn is going to continue to work on it.
Star Wars: Mobility And Fast Pace Key Part Of Mandalorian FPS Game
According to VentureBeat's Jeff Grubb, this upcoming FPS Star Wars title is going to center around a Mandalorian bounty hunter, though it hasn't been revealed who. A key part of the gameplay should center around the Mandalorian's jetpack, which will give players a lot of freedom when playing.
Honestly, from what has been revealed, it sounds a lot like an interesting mix between Apex Legends and Warframe. Players will be able to dash, vertical jump and have boost sliding available if the information revealed is to be believed, which will make for some interesting movement.
The game takes place when the Galactic Empire dominates the galaxy. You're going to become a bounty hunter looking to capture bounties – obviously – dead or alive to get cash rewards. Sounds easy enough, eh?
Since this is a Star Wars inspired game, there are also a multitude of gadgets and weapons available for the player to choose from, but it seems like it won't be an open world game, instead it'll feature linear levels on different planets.
Overall, it sounds like a pretty fun game with an interesting spin on the Star Wars universe. Unfortunately, there is no information regarding a release date just yet, but it is expected to be coming within the next two-years, which means that Respawn must have been working on this title for a while already.
