Helldivers 2 continues to climb the Steam charts, but still has to face technical issues.
Helldivers 2 has had a tough time since its launch. First, crashes and matchmaking bugs caused problems, then overloaded servers added to the issues, prompting developers to desperately seek reinforcements. The server issues don't seem to be letting up. However, there is a good reason for this.
Helldivers 2 Servers Still Struggle And Here Is Why
Arrowhead, the studio behind Helldivers 2, had already attempted to address the server problems and login difficulties with hotfixes, as announced by director Johan Pilestedt on Twitter/X.
The problems, however, did not really improve over the course of the days. Some players didn't receive rewards after missions, while others simply couldn't log in. The time they didn't spend playing Helldivers 2, some players invested in hilarious drawings.

Meanwhile, the devs continue to work tirelessly to resolve the issues. In addition to their efforts, they compensated players with a 50% multiplier for experience points and requisition.
Despite the ongoing difficulties, Pilestedt appears satisfied on Twitter/X, and he has good reason to do so.
So, a bit of a retro of this week.I am completely exhausted by the success. So is the team, many, many late nights, on-calls, emergency meetings, discussions around server capacity, shards, capacity units, CPU utilization, login rates and CCU.Tired, but very, very pleased.

One of the most impactful reasons for the server overloads is the large influx of players. Since its release, Helldivers 2 has steadily climbed to the top of the Steam charts.
By now, the co-op shooter has managed to secure the 6th position among the most played games on the PC platform. With a peak player count of over 400k simultaneous players, Helldivers 2 has made history for all Sony PC releases. It's not only the most played PC launch of a PlayStation title anymore; it has even reached more players than all PlayStation PC launches combined.
While the road to stability for Helldivers 2 has been bumpy, the dedication of the development team and the unwavering support of the player community remain strong pillars of hope. The player numbers suggest that the game has enough potential to compete with major titles, and hopefully the remaining technical problems will be solved in the near future.
