Ten years after the release of The Sims 4, EA and Maxis are currently developing the latest installment of the series, Sims 5, also known as Project Rene. Now, there are some new leaks.
Back in October 2022, EA confirmed the development of Sims 5. While we have already seen some official prototype footage, and livestreams with a few deets, there are some new leaks on Reddit that shows us the game's interface and customization options.
The Sims 5 PC version is being developed under the codename Project Rene, while the Android version (yes, there will be a mobile version) is called Project Lotus. Since the PC version relies on infamously terrible anti-piracy software, the latest gameplay leaks are from an emulator version of the Android build.

The Reddit leak contains a 7-minute video that shows us some of the customization options we seem to have in Sims 5. According to the video, it will be possible to stretch furniture like tables, change color patterns of individual pieces of furniture and add accents like pillows, decorations and more. The video also shows some of the game interface, such as the multiplayer and friends menu.
The leak also includes some of the new Sims models. While it seems like there are almost endless possibilities to customize your gameplay, some Sims fans are not too happy with the changes, as one fan commented: "Everything about it from the UI to the leaked sim designs feel so... not sims? The menus make feel like I'm looking at house flipper [...] It's sims but without the heart".
Another Reddit user has leaked what appears to be the world map for Sims 5. While there is not much to see yet, the map seems to be based on the city of Paris, with apartments instead of houses.
