Diablo 4 Season 3 has just released and players are not feeling the new mechanics and additions to the game. Going into this update, the player base was already weary, but it seems that their worries have come true as this season did not hit the mark like Season 2 did.

Fans and players have expressed their frustration, not only with new vault features, but also the mechanical companion.

Going into the new Diablo season, players were already weary, due to the lack of information on upcoming gimmicks and changes to the game. There hadn't been any sort of hype or excitement, and it seems that now, just after release, this sentiment has only grown.

While Diablo 4 Season of Construct did bring in new mechanics and some class balance changes, there is nothing there that seems to want to keep players playing.

Talk about a great step backwards by u/Paul_Allens_AR15 in diablo4

On Reddit, one of the most upvoted posts was labeled "Talk about a great step backwards" which is how most players have felt, especially after the great success Season 2 was after Blizzard took in players opinions when designing the season.

This time around, players are stating that the new Vault dungeons make the game "painfully unfun" and that it's filled with "annoying" traps. Not only that, but the new mechanical companion also doesn't add much to the gameplay or story.

I’m not sure if my robot is doing anything while I am fighting. To put it another way, if I had no robot at all, it wouldn’t make a difference to me.

So, while the season hasn't been out for too long, it seems to have missed the mark by a mile, especially after how good season 2 was. Blizzard is going to have to think of something, but with Microsoft firing over 1,900 employees on January 25, who knows whether we're even getting a Season 4 at this point, eh?
