The next big update of Honkai Star Rail is waiting right behind the corner and is bringing us a bunch of new events and, most importantly, two brand new 5-Star characters! If you are still not sure who to pull for, this little banner overview might be quite helpful to you!
It's finally time for a new banner in Honkai Star Rail! Since the upcoming version 2.2 is slowly but surely arriving on May 8, 2024, we should take a much closer look at the brand-new units and their corresponding banners. And now, clear the stage for Robin and Boothill!
Who will you pull for in version 2.2?
Honkai Star Rail: Version 2.2 Banner Overview
The following 2.2 banners will be released with the version update on May 8, 2024. The first phase will begin on May 8, 2024, and ends on May 29, 2024. The following second phase will have a new lineup, that will start off on May 29, 2024, and will end on June 19, 2024!
First Half: Robin
Robin, a distinguished Halovian singer, was born in Penacony and ascended to stellar renown. As the young and beautiful young lady Robin is, she embodies elegance and restraint. Recently, The Family invited her to perform at the Charmony Festival in her homeland.

Robin possesses the unique ability to employ the power of Harmony to transmit her music, creating a “resonance” that affects her audience and all types of living beings.
- The rerun unit during Robin's banner will be Topaz & Numby!

First Half: 4-Stars
- March 7th (Ice / The Preservation)
Sigh … cute, little March 7th, it's always nice to see her on a banner! Even though March is one of the oldest units in the entire game, she holds a special place in most player's hearts due to her bubbly and joyful personality.
Lately, however, she got much more interesting since HoYoverse announced an update for her and her kit in one of the upcoming version! Maybe you should grab yourself a few copies for her, just in case she will be super broken with her second kit?
- Hanya (Physical / The Harmony)
Hanya will probably not have the best time on this exact banner since the featured 5-Star unit Robin, will also be a Physical character, who follows the path of The Harmony! Pretty unlucky timing for our judge of the Ten-Lords Commission. Even though she will always remain a pretty decent buffer support, she will get useless with the moment you pulled yourself a Robin …
- Xueyi (Quantum / The Destruction)
Personally, I'm stoked about Xueyi on this banner! I love her design and kit so much, that I might try to E6 her on this banner! Xueyi is probably one of the strongest 4-Stars and can actually work as a dedicated main DPS as well! Next to that, she is just insanely fun to play, and her animations are almost 5-Star worthy!
Final thoughts: If you lack support units on your account, this banner is basically made for you. Not only will Robin be super broken, but Hanya and March 7th are both pretty good supports, especially if you are on a budget.
Let's move on to the second half!
Second Half: Boothill
Boothill is a cyborg cowboy roams the cosmos, full of optimism and boundless spirit. He belongs to the Galaxy Rangers, a group committed to relentlessly pursuing the vile by any means necessary. His flamboyant and audacious deeds aim to capture the attention of the Interastral Peace Corporation – the focus of his quest for vengeance.
- The rerun unit during Boothill's banner will be Fu Xuan!

Which 4-Stars will be in his banner? — Let's take a look!
Second Half: 4-Stars
- Pela (Ice / The Nihility)
- Luka (Physical / The Nihility)
- Hook (Fire / The Destruction)
I have no idea why HoYoverse still puts Hook on banners … She is cute and all, but no one plays her! Her kit is just not strong enough to be a main DPS, but she can't be a support either! Unfortunately, Hook just takes away space for actual support units like healers or buffers, which is why no one is picking her up anymore.
Final thoughts: Compared to the first half banner, is this one pretty bad. The only good 4-Star (for me) is Pela, however, Luka can at least fit pretty well in DoT team comps. On the other side, this half is Boothill's banner, and he will be so incredibly cool!
Which of the two banners you want to try your luck on is of course up to you. This time, both characters are quite unique and especially if you are in need of a good support unit, Robin could be the right choice for you! However, I understand how it's more than hard to skip Boothill …
