Sony is going to host a State of Play showcase this week on January 31. The livestream is set to include several exciting PlayStation titles like Death Stranding 2, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and many more. Here's how you can watch it and what you should expect.
A new Sony State of Play is coming on Wednesday, January 31. The rumor mill has been going for a while on this, and now the upcoming event has finally been confirmed. Here's when the State of Play livestream is happening and what you can expect.
State of Play Livestream Date, Time & How To Watch
The State of Play will be hosted on January 31 at 2 pm PT / 5 pm ET / 10 pm GMT. You can watch the livestream on PlayStation's official channels via YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok. Co-streams will be allowed as well. The Steate of Play is set to be around 40 minutes long
We Can Expect Over 15 Games, But What Are They?
Sony promised that the State of Play will cover "15+ games" in the 40-minute runtime. However, the only titles that have been confirmed are Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin. Outside of that, we can expect "a new look at other titles coming to PS5 and PS VR2 in 2024 and beyond".
We previously got a report about Death Stranding 2 having a big reveal (potentially including the release date) at the show, with an Until Dawn remaster also allegedly getting an announcement. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is expected to have one last great showing before releasing on February 29, a new Metro game is set to be announced, and apparently we will even see Ken Levine’s Judas? Wow.
There’s apparently a lot going on. Here are all the games that are rumored to feature at the upcoming Sony State of Play:
- Death Stranding 2 (and potentially the Death Stranding film)
- Until Dawn remaster
- Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
- Metro Awakening
- Sonic Generations remaster
- Silent Hill 2
- Judas
- Concord
- Rise of the Ronin (confirmed)
- Stellar Blade (confirmed)
A wave of leaks and rumors concerning these games was recently supported by Nick “Shpeshal_Nick” Baker, co-founder of XboxEra and serial distributor of rumors. In a cringey riddle, he included all the games that are apparently going to feature at this show:
This would be a pretty impressive slate of titles for any show, let alone a State of Play. Sony’s PlayStation-focused showcases usually leave a lot to be desired, but this one is shaping up to be a banger of a show. Now all we have left is to wait for January 31 and see, what Sony's State of Play can offer us.On the 31st (roughly), Ronins will Rise, we'll die stranded, have a rebirth and Kojima will fulfil his dream. Sonic will live in the shadow of his generation while the hills will remain silent until the dawn when you'll need to catch the metro. Just don't be a Judas about it.
