Wuthering Waves is about to release in just a few weeks, and what could be more fun than to celebrate the upcoming launch with your friends?
Nowadays, the genre of RPG gacha games is extremely popular, which is mainly due to games like Genshin Impact. However, there is one shortcoming that has been criticized by the HoYoverse community for years: the multiplayer!
However, it looks like Wuthering Waves could beat the gacha giant Genshin Impact in the multiplayer department, and win over a lot of players! Let's take a closer look at how the co-op will work in the upcoming Wuthering Waves!
Will you play Wuthering Waves with your friends?
Wuthering Waves: Everything To Know About The Multiplayer Feature
Since Wuthering Waves has not yet been officially released, some things about the multiplayer can of course still change, but the beta test runs have already allowed us to experience most of the gameplay. So let's take a look at which parts of the game work well with friends and which you should play on a solo mission!
Let's take care of the basics first: In Wuthering Waves you will be able to play with two other friends at the same time, which means that three players can be in one world at the same time. The level required to unlock co-op is 25 and the characters equipped do not matter, so if you feel like an all Rover round, that's possible too! The player's world level does not really matter, since the loot will be adjusted to whoever is picking it up, basically.
Next up, we should talk about the actual important stuff! If you invite other players into your world, you have to remember, that they will be able to take all your collectibles and harvestable items, like ores and flowers, which will not be shared with you.
On the other hand, whenever you kill monsters as a group, everyone gets their chance at looting them. This is super practical and essential when farming Echos, especially the shiny ones! This sharing system even works, if you are far, far away from where your friends might kill a monster. You can just run up to them and collect the loot later on. Next to that, you can also join domains together with your friends. When fighting, you can trigger the into skill by just tapping your character slot number (one to three) since you can't swap around between units if you have three unique players in one world.
Now let's take a look at what isn’t possible in co-op.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to clear the end-game content with your friends, which is mainly the Tower of Adversity. (In Genshin terms, the Abyss.) However, one thing that is quite interesting, is that in one of the gameplay trailers, you can see three players fighting in the Tower of Adversity, so maybe we will actually get an update on that later on as well!
One more thing that won't work in co-op are solving puzzles and looting chests. This, however, is a good thing, since players can’t just steal all your overworld chests or do all riddles without you wanting them to!
And that's about it! Personally speaking, I really hope that the end game content will at least have a co-op section, or maybe a separate feature that will be similar to the Tower of Adversity. Other than that, the multiplayer seems to be quite good and Wuthering Waves could finally be the game which is great for grinding with your friends.
