Spy X Family: Code White — Good, Dumb Fun In A Film
For anyone looking for deep and meaningful time at the movies, then this isn't the movie for you. The good thing about this movie is that it is accessible to anyone and everyone. Even people who have not watched much of Spy x Family will be able to enjoy this movie. The premise of the show is explained at the start, so viewers can quickly understand the family dynamic between the protagonists.
Overall, the movie is great fun, with hilarious misunderstandings between both Yor and Loid leading to some fun interactions. Anya's childish antics also create the usual chaotic situations fans of the show know and love.
Wit Studio and CloverWorks created a magical winter-scenery and the animation is flawless. It is a true step-up from the anime, which is to be expected. The overall story is also cute, with the family going on a weekend vacation, only to end up entangled in the conflict between Ostania and Westalis once more.
The visuals are amazing, the story is great, but it did lack some depth and some scenes felt a bit odd here and there. But this is Spy x Family we're talking about, and the film did what it set out to do — tell a hilarious story of the Forger family on vacation and be entertaining while doing so.
