"Gaming Belongs Everywhere In The Home" - IKEA Unveils New Gaming Collection

Ikea introduces a new line of gaming furniture that breaks away from the typical gamer aesthetic. The 20-item BRÄNNBOLL collection seamlessly blends neutral tones with vibrant colors to fit every home.

This venture comes on the heels of Ikea's predominantly black ROG collaboration in 2021, and subsequent releases of gaming furniture aimed at office environments. The BRÄNNBOLL collection, however, takes a different approach, focusing on designs in line with Ikea's Scandinavian style that may be more appropriate for living rooms.

Versatile seating takes center stage with lounge chairs, a hanging chair and an inflatable doughnut-shaped chair with a complementary footrest. The collection also includes a gaming station that folds into a cabinet-like structure with a folding tabletop, integrated PC storage and cable management to create a gaming area that is easily concealed when not in use.

Additional pieces include a storage box that doubles as a side table, a shelf for displaying collectibles and game items, and accessories such as a mouse pad, rug, and blanket.

Recognizing the widespread appeal of gaming, Ikea emphasizes that games belong everywhere in the home, not just in a dedicated space. Philip Dilé, Ikea's product design developer, emphasizes the collection's age inclusiveness, suitable for adults as well, with a mix of neutral and light colors to blend seamlessly into modern living spaces:

"With BRÄNNBOLL, we are embracing the idea that gaming is for everyone and belongs everywhere in the home. It's about making it simple for people to create spaces that adapt to gaming, living, and everything in between. We hope this collection will encourage friends and families to engage together, bringing joy and connection through shared gaming experiences."

BRÄNNBOLL will be launched in all IKEA markets from September 2024.
