Ahsoka on Disney+ gave Star Wars fans more than they had dared to hope for – amazing characters, a gripping story, heart-wrenching moments and lightsaber action. But the most important question remains: will there be a season 2 of Ahsoka? Here's everything we know so far.
With the newest Star Wars hit show Ahsoka, Disney didn't only expand on an awesome character, they also hit the sweet spot with beloved returning characters in our favorite galaxy far, far away.
The ending of the show, though, didn't feel like the last of Ahsoka's story, did it? There certainly are more questions than answers left after episode 8. So, what are the chances of season 2 coming to our screens?
Ahsoka Season 2 On Disney+ Is In Development
Dave Filoni, you're our only hope – and he didn't disappoint. It doesn't come as a huge surprise that Ahsoka gets a second season (there were some hints, after all, and let's be honest: it was a huge success, so canceling the show wouldn't have been the smartest move!), but the announcement of the show's renewal does soothe the anxious minds of Star Wars fans like me.
In a press release in early January, Disney+ teased a few upcoming Star Wars projects. The Mandalorian and Grogu movie was a big one, for sure, but they sneakily got the Ahsoka season 2 announcement in there as well.
The second season is currently being developed by Dave Filoni. I'm not going to sugar coat it: that could take some time.
Ahsoka Season 2 | When Will It Come Out?
We just got confirmation that development is underway, so we have no official release date yet. It may be better to follow the Jedi way here and be patient.
Our guess? We think a mid-2025 release date is realistic, provided there are no delays.
Rosario Dawson Is Up For Ahsoka Season 2
The titular character was brought to life by none other than Rosario Dawson, and you'll be pleased to know she is just as keen as fans are for more episodes. E
She recently got fans' hopes up in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, where she teased exactly what we wanted to hear:
I really, really hope the fans love [the show]. That means A) we get to do more and B) we've honored the legacy of this character and this journey, and I know that's what we intended to do.
It's nice to hear that Dawson cares as much about Ahsoka as the fans. I'm also happy to reassure her, Fans did love the show and there will be. Win-win, I guess!
We'll keep you updated on Ahsoka, of course, so make sure to check in every once in a while!
