Saltburn on Amazon Prime has been a huge hit for the streaming service – for good reason. It's not everyday we get a movie that's equal parts fun and disturbing, so it's only natural to go looking for more. Here are four more movies available on Prime Video that might be right up your alley!
Saltburn has taken the internet by storm with reactions to certain scenes on TikTok, discussions about the message of the movie (or if there even is one) and arguments over what Oliver's intentions were in the first place.
If you somehow managed to not get caught up in the Saltburn hype, let me get you in on the fun: in Saltburn, Oliver gets obsessed with Felix, his fellow student. Felix, born into a wealthy family, takes Oliver under his wing and brings him to meet his family. Cue: absolute insanity. I mean it, and not necessarily in the fun way (even though the movie is also a dark comedy) – there's chuckles, there's entertainment, but there's also the "what am I seeing right now?" moments.
If you liked Saltburn for what it is and yearn for more (yearning in a more healthy way than Oliver, I hope!), I've got you covered with four more movies that could be right up your alley – and you don't even need to leave Prime Video for that!
4 More Movies Like Saltburn For Your Amazon Prime Watchlist
I'll have some more tips at the end of the list if you're like me and have more streaming services at your disposal than you'd care to admit, but let's start with some movies to enjoy if you're a Prime-only watcher. All of the following are included in Prime Video and you don't need to pay extra.
Triangle of Sadness
If you liked the class-commentary and humor Saltburn brought to the table, you should probably check out Triangle of Sadness from 2022. Not to spoil anything, but get ready for some insanity as well.
Triangle of Sadness is a movie about new and old money, the eccentric people holding it and then realizing money doesn't mean sh*t when it comes to survival. Directed and written by Ruben Östlund, the movie won its fair share of European Film Awards and I see not enough people talking about it, so give it a shot.
A Simple Favor
No, A Simple Favor didn't make the cut just because I am a simp for both Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively – even though that was an amazing casting choice, I won't lie.
A Simple Favor mixes suspense and humor in a similar way that Saltburn does. The unlikely friendship of Stephanie, a widowed mommy vlogger, and Emily, the definition of an enigmatic woman, begins like many great friendships do: with sharing martinis while their kids are on a playdate. Cue the "simple favor" – no spoilers here, but if you're up for another story about betrayal, some twists and turns and dark humor after Saltburn, here you go.
Promising Young Woman
Back to the roots – and I mean that! Promising Young Woman is Emerald Fennell's movie before she captivated movie lovers with Saltburn, so if you want to check out more of her work, that's the best place to start.
Make sure to be in the right headspace for that, though, as the movie explores some pretty heavy topics, especially trauma surrounding sexual assault. Cassie (Carey Mulligan) is on a quest for vengeance, consuming her whole life.
Six Degrees of Separation
If it was Oliver's deception in Saltburn that got you, then Six Degrees of Separation can give you another fix on that one.
Meet con artist Paul, tricking the wealthy in New York into trusting him just for the whole situation turning out to be a lie – sounds familiar, doesn't it? In Six Degrees of Separation, while not as unhinged in Saltburn, we get the themes of identity, privilege and, most importantly, deception.
Even More Movies Like Saltburn On Other Services
I promised some more recommendations on other streaming services, so if you've got Netflix and/or Paramount+, here are two must-sees for you.
The Killing of a Sacred Deer
You're into the dark stuff? Here is some dark stuff. The Killing of a Sacred Deer on Netflix takes what made Saltburn great and goes even darker. And the best part? Barry Keoghan is in it again and, you guessed it, he did a fantastic job.
This time, he is a picture perfect sadist on a quest for revenge on a whole family he blames for his father's death. Infiltrating a family that basically didn't do anything wrong and tearing it apart seems to be Barry Keoghan's specialty, so if you're up to see another horrifying display of insanity, The Killing of a Sacred Deer should be your first stop.
The Talented Mr. Ripley
The obvious choice for those who know, but for those who don't: Saltburn is often compared to The Talented Mr. Ripley for a variety of reasons. If you've got Paramount+, add it to your watchlist!
While The Talented Mr. Ripley is not at all as insane as Saltburn, the premise is kind of similar, hence the comparisons. Tom Ripley also gets entangled with the rich, loving the lifestyle and forcing him into more and more lies to keep it up.
Your watchlist should be a little longer now, but if you've got any other suggestions, feel free to share them down below!
