Netflix gives The Witcher another go with a brand new animated movie: Sirens of the Deep. After the first film, Nightmare of the Wolf was pretty well received, Netflix now tackles an animated Geralt. In The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, we got to see Vesemir's backstory and how he got to taking Geralt and the other new Witchers under his wing. Soon, we'll get to see the adult White Wolf animated as well in The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep, along with some other beloved characters.

Based on Andrzej Sapkowski's book series , The Witcher has been turned into amazing games, followed by a live-action Netflix series that... well, has some issues. So, animation might be the way to go! Here's everything there is to know about the upcoming Netflix movie.

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep | Release Window & Teaser

In November 2023, Netflix gave fans a first look at the animated movie and also gave us a release window: "late 2024." As soon as there's a concrete release date to report, you can be sure you'll hear about it from us.

To pass the time until then, I'd highly recommend replaying The Witcher 3 on PlayStation 5 like I actually do right now. Or just take a look at the teaser we got from Netflix:

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep | Voice Cast & Production

One thing that got Witcher fans excited was the good news of the one and only Doug Cockle returning to voice Geralt of Rivia once more in the animated movie. Wind's howling, I'd say! With the iconic voice actor on board again, that's one huge plus for Netflix's project.

For Yennefer and Dandelion/Jaskier, the live-action stars Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey will lend their voices to their animated counterparts.

The movie's going to be written by Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin who were both involved in Netflix's The Witcher show, and the showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. Original Witcher author Andrzej Sapkowski will be involved as the creative consultant.

The studio behind Nightmare of the Wolf will also be working on Sirens of the Deep, meaning that Kang Hei Chul returns as director and Studio MIR will be responsible for the animation again.

Set in between episodes 5 and 6 from Netflix's The Witcher show (season 1), Geralt finds himself at the seaside to do what Witchers do. Here's the official synposis:

Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter, is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a seaside village and finds himself drawn into a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. He must count on friends — old and new — to solve the mystery before the hostilities between the two kingdoms escalate into an all-out war.

And if that doesn't sound like a side quest from The Witcher 3 that could have been its very own game, I don't know what to tell you. We'll make sure to keep you posted on any further developments!
