The Witcher: Blood Origin – New Trailer Released

The new spinoff series from The Witcher just got a reveal trailer and a release date. But can this new show compensate for the loss of Henry Cavill as Geralt?

After the heartbreaking news that Henry Cavill will not be reprising his role as Gerlat of Rivia in The Witcher season 4, people are searching for reasons to get excited about the franchise again. The Witcher: Blood Origin might just be that reason, as the new trailer looks rather promising.

At least we still got season 3, I guess:

The Witcher season 3 releases in 2023. If you're excited about it, but wish there was more Witcher content (because let's be real, the next Witcher game definitely won't release next year), then get ready to twerk. Blood Origin, the spinoff for The Witcher series, already releases this year!

The Witcher Blood Origin Release Date

Ordinarily, the main Witcher show is released in December. But, as we were surprised to hear, the main Witcher show will now be released in the summer of 2023. And Blood Origin will be released on December 25, 2022, taking up the usual Christmas slot. Is the show ready to take on the popularity of the main show?

Hopefully the writers for this entry won't be as stuck-up as the ones for the main series:

Maybe they already lost hope in the original series because of its bad writing and the creative differences between Cavill and some of the crew. I mean, Cavill was so disappointed with how the show turned out that he even left the project.

Blood Origin Story

Blood Origin will take place 1,200 years before the events of The Witcher. It will tell the story of the first Witcher and the Conjunction of the Spheres, something that fans of the franchise will be very familiar with.

The main characters will be Scian (Michelle Yeoh), the last member of a nomadic elven tribe, Éile (Sophia Brown), a traveling musician, and Fjall (Laurence O’Fuarain), a warrior seeking vengeance.

For those of you who are into the franchise for more than simply watching Henry Cavill smashing in monster's heads, this will be a great show for you.
