Among Us has been a huge success, zombie stories often are huge successes, so why not combine the two? Get ready for The Walking Dead: Betrayal!
Let's be honest, stabbing friends in the back in Among Us has been a coping mechanism for a bunch of us in the pandemic. It's time to mistrust everyone around you again and this time, it's in an actual ingame-pandemic on steroids: a zombie apocalypse.
In groups of up to 8 people, the zombies aren't even the most terrifying threat out there: it's your friends. They have even more ways to sabotage the group than in Among Us: setting actual traps or letting loose a horde of walkers seems way harder to prove for your unsuspecting team mates, so go nuts with that!
The Walking Dead: Betrayal | Beta Release Date
The closed Beta is set to begin on August 10. If you'd like to sign up for that and test the game, you can do that right here! If you're familiar with Project Winter and enjoyed that, I'd really recommend checking out The Walking Dead: Betrayal as well.
In The Walking Dead: Betrayal, your goal is to scavenge resources in order to complete your objectives and make your escape from the approaching hordes of walkers. That's not gonna work on your own, so be sure to stick to your team and help each other out.
To do that, you'll have to use proximity-based voice chat or be lucky and find a radio to communicate across the whole map (including text chat and emotes).
Except... not everyone on your team is trustworthy. The traitors on your team probably won't know where to start sabotaging: poison the food supply, booby-trap chests, lure walkers to the team's location? A good old stabbing always does the trick as well, so be sure to always stick to the group and have someone watch your back – preferably not the traitor!
So keep your friends close and your enemies closer, I guess? And even if those dirty, cruel traitors get you, you'll can always come back as a walker yourself and seek revenge.
