Are you struggling with the Sea Spider in Armored Core 6? We have the possible best AC build for you and how you can handle the two phases of the boss!
Armored Core 6 is rich in fast-paced enemies who like to bombard you with lasers, rocket launchers and make your life a living hell. The Sea Spider boss from chapter 2 is no exception. On top of it, the enemy is also ridiculously fast.
Just like before with other boss fights, you'll have to figure out how the enemy attacks and changes its behavior after getting hurt. But don't stress yourself too much, our guide will give you all the info you need.
We'll start off with the attack pattern, going over the best AC build and ultimately show how you defeat it without breaking even a sweat!
Armored Core 6: Sea Spider Attacks To Watch Out
If you stumble into the fight unprepared, you will most likely not even notice any attack pattern at all, since the Sea Spider overwhelms you with its brute force and speed. Even if you think you're prepared, the spider will teach you otherwise, and the chances are fairly high you won't get through it the first time.
Let's take a small break and get to the attack pattern rundown before you get too frustrated over the fight:
- Two legged stomp: This is most likely the entry for each fight. The Sea Spider will get close to you, rear up and reveal two laser daggers on its feet and stomp with explosive force – to dodge this one, just charge under the Sea Spider and you're safe;
- Laser wave: At the start of the second phase the Sea Spider will transform itself into a hovering pinecone or petaled rose (that's what I saw in it at least). It will charge a gigantic coral energy blast that shoots out damage waves – to avoid this damage, get on the same level as the sea spider and hover as high as possible;
- Charged laser shot: The Sea Spider will take some steps back and charge up a high-powered laser cannon – to block this attack, quick-boost to the spiders legs and her own feet will block the attack;
- Spinning Beyblade lasers: This attack is almost an instant kill if you let it hit you, be careful! The Sea Spider starts to spin around with rotating lasers on its appendages – the best option is to get as far away as possible and kiss the corners of the arena.
Armored Core 6: Possible Best AC Build
With this boss fight, we go all out with our maximum firepower and use heavy weapons to stun the Sea Spider during the first phase as much as possible. Also, using the four legs to stay in safe distance while the boss tries to attack aggressively.
This is the equipment that lead to my victory:
- Right Arm Unit: Gatling Gun "Hu-Ben";
- Left Arm Unit: Pile bunker "Ashmead";
- Right Back Unit: Songbirds;
- Left Back Unit: Missile Launcher "P05Milt-10" – if you feel comfortable, you can also use another Songbird;
- Head: Tian-Qiang
- Core: VP-40S
- Arms: Tian-Lao
- Legs: VP-424
- Booster: Alula/21E
- FCS: FC-006 Abbot
- Generator: VP-20S
- Expansion: Pulse Protection
The most important things here are the weapons and the four legs, in order to dodge most of the attacks on the ground and to stun the enemy as often as possible.

Armored Core 6: Tips How To Defeat The Spider
At first, the Sea Spider seems absolutely terrifying, but every attack can be avoided pretty easily after you get a hang of the attack pattern. The strategy with the spider is pretty straightforward if you use the four legs AC build.
This is how you handle the two phases:
- Phase 1: During this phase, being as aggressive as possible is the key to victory. Keep close and use charged attacks with the pile bunker to keep it in a near-constant stun lock loop.
- Phase 2: Get into air and in defensive mode! With the rocket launchers, you can pressure the spider from afar and still stun it occasionally. While hovering, the spider's AOEs are mostly useless and the lasers are predictable enough to dodge it reliably. If you get the Sea Spider stunned and staggered, get close charge you pile bunker in it, withdraw and do it all over again.
This is pretty much it. If you feel the rhythm of the fight and don't let the spider pressure you, but rather pressure the Sea Spider, then the victory comes easy. Good luck!
