So remember how everybody joked that Ghost of Tsushima was essentially just another Assassin's Creed, yet at the same time everybody agreed it was better than AC, yet at the same time, everybody wanted an AC in Japan? Well, now we're finally getting an Assassin's Creed set in Feudal Japan - katanas and all - and it's currently under development under the codename Assassin's Creed Red. But that's not all... because we got this:

Assassin's Creed Codename Red Reveal Trailer

Ok, granted... that's more of a teaser than a trailer, but it's all we wanted: Shinobi, check. Hidden blade, check. Jumping around roofs, check. Ubisoft promises that Assassin's Creed Codename Red will be a major part of the Assassin's Creed Infinity experience: AC Infinity will be a hub that connects players to all kinds of Assassin's Creed games, with the first one being the very shinobi AC we've all been craving. In fact, Ubisoft is marketing AC Codename Red as the "next premium flagship title and the future of our open-world RPG games".

Whatever that means exactly will only be revealed once we get our hands on AC Infinity - or when we get a proper look at it - but for now it sure sounds promising. If you needed more assurance that the game is going to meet our expectations: The two people in charge are the creative director of Fenyx Rising and the leadership of Assassin's Creed Odyssey, so... this one should be a safe bet. If not... there's always one of the other Assassin's Creed games to get the job done, like the upcoming Mirage set in Baghdad.
