Assassin's Creed Mirage got hit by the leak hammer - we have a cover and some gameplay stills for him.
First it was the game's official description that was leaked, now it's the cover and some juicy - and I do mean juicy - stills from the gameplay. Since I'm not a man of great patience, I'm not expecting you to be either, so I'll give you the good stuff right off the bat:

Tell me that doesn't look absolutely gorgeous. Also... tell me that doesn't look exactly like Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Yeah... Mirage is not looking to reinvent the wheel, though some will argue that could be a good thing, and I'm one of those people: I think, at this point, Ubisoft is better off dropping the Assassin's Creed label and letting these games succeed on their own. I mean, Mirage is basically Aladdin in grown-up, with some Prince of Persia thrown into the mix, coupled with the beautiful open-world gameplay that Ubisoft has mastered. Free Mirage from the shackles of the AC franchise, and we might just have a game of the year akin to Ghost of Tsushima on our hands here, but as it stands... I smell another AC reskin coming on.
Now, don't get me wrong: You see the pictures and I think you'll agree that it looks good and polished. Also, the Baghdad setting is unique, and I'm not only a fan of unique settings, I also appreciate it when mainstream games shine a light on cultures that the mainstream is not that familiar with. Also, having a main character that represents a minority is always a meaningful step in the right direction, so I'm rooting for Mirage, it's just... I'm worried that people have grown tired of the formula and I could see this game doing better if it were, I don't know... 'Baghdad Dreams' instead of Assassin's Creed Mirage. Ok, maybe my title sounds too much like a brothel, but you get the gist... heck, just call the game Mirage and be done with it.
If you're unfamiliar with the setting of Assassin's Creed Mirage, then let me help you out with the official description:
Experience the story of Basim, a cunning street thief seeking answers and justice as he navigates the bustling streets of ninth-century Baghdad. Through a mysterious, ancient organization known as the Hidden Ones, he will become a deadly Master Assassin and change his fate in ways he never could have imagined.
As for anything else, we got all your AC Mirage needs covered right here.
