With the release of the big Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update and the new Cyberpunk 2077 DLC Phantom Liberty which is scheduled to be released on September 26, 2023, players are going to have to check whether their PC's can still handle the game's requirements. Luckily, the developers have gone ahead and revealed what the PC requirements for Cyberpunk 2077's update and DLC are.
CD Projekt Red has recently unveiled the updated PC system requirements for Cyberpunk 2077 in preparation for the highly anticipated Phantom Liberty DLC and the huge 2.0 update for the game. With both the expansion and the 2.0 update launching nearly three years after the base game, CD Projekt Red aimed to provide more up-to-date specifications, specifically targeting a resolution output of either 1080p or 4k.
Cyberpunk 2077: The Impact Of The Phantom Liberty DLC
The Phantom Liberty expansion, while a paid DLC, will also introduce a significant patch to version 1.7, bringing about extensive changes to the game's mechanics. Consequently, the PC version of Cyberpunk 2077 will become more demanding thanks to the big 2.0 update, prompting CD Projekt Red to make several adjustments.
One significant change is the decision to exclusively support SSDs moving forward. In their statement, CD Projekt Red explained, "One of the changes is the choice to stop supporting HDDs for the minimum requirements. SSDs offer faster loading times, improved streaming, and better overall performance when compared to HDDs." So if you don't have enough space on your SSD currently, clear some space for Cyberpunk 2077 pronto, or get a new M.2 SDD for your computer.

It's important to note that CD Projekt Red clarified this adjustment does not render the game unplayable on setups that meet the previous minimum requirements. However, the company will discontinue active support and testing on those configurations.
Cybperpunk 2077: Revised Minimum PC Requirements
The revised minimum system requirements for Cyberpunk 2077 entail a more robust setup. Instead of the previous Intel Core i5-3570K or AMD FX-8310, the game will soon demand at least an Intel Core i7-6700 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor.
The RAM requirement have been increased to 12 GB, and the graphics card must be either on the level of an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or an AMD Radeon RX 580.
Recommended Settings for Enhanced Performance
For an optimal experience, CD Projekt Red recommends a more powerful configuration. The recommended system specifications now include an Intel Core i7-12700 or AMD Ryzen 7 7800 processor, accompanied by 16 GB of RAM. In terms of graphics, players are advised to have an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super or AMD Radeon RX 5700.
Cyberpunk 2077: Update 2.0 & DLC Release Date And Game Improvement
While the Phantom Liberty expansion is confirmed to launch on September 26, the big 2.0 update will come even sooner, on September 21, 2023.
CD Projekt Red explained the rationale behind these changes, stating, "The updates to the minimum requirements reflect our new standard, representing the minimum PC configuration required to run the game at 1080p while maintaining an average of 30 FPS at the low preset.
We believe these changes are essential to enhance the game, add new features, and improve the overall experience."
The release date of Phantom Liberty and a new trailer were unveiled during the Xbox Games Showcase on June 11, marking the beginning of an exciting Summer of Gaming.
