Elden Ring Guide: How To Get The Old Lord’s Talisman

The Old Lord's Talisman is pretty useful to mages. Where can you find it, though?

If you're going with a magic build in Elden Ring, then you might want to not just look at amazing weapons and items like the Moonveil Katana or the Icerind Hatchet, you should also think about getting the Old Lord's Talisman. It will extend the duration of your spells by quite a bit, and we've all been in boss battles where that would have come in handy.

If you're just starting Elden Ring and think: "I'll be unbeatable right from the start with this", think again: You will not be able to get the Old Lord's Talisman early on. It's actually only able in one of the last areas of the game. Which one is that, how can you get there, and where exactly can you find the Old Lord's Talisman?

Where To Find The Old Lord's Talisman

You can find the Old Lord's Talisman in Crumbling Farum Azula. This is the last region in the critical path of Elden Ring. In order to get there, you will need to beat the Fire Giant boss in the Mountaintop of the Giants region. After that, you will automatically be teleported there. Make sure you level up before that, though. This is no easy boss, and you'll die if you go in unprepared.

Make Your Way Through Crumbling Farum Azula

Once you've defeated the boss, you will land in Crumbling Farum Azula. And this place is nasty, trust us. It's winding and looks confusing, but it's actually not as bad as you might think. There are a lot of tough enemies around though, so be on your guard. Make your way through the area until you get to the Site of Grace "Beside the Great Bridge". Just keep going forward and don't get distracted by the many twists and turns of this area.

When you're by the mentioned Site of Grace, get on the big, dilapidated bridge. You will either be able to go to the right or the left. Don't go right, as that leads you to the boss of the region. Instead, turn left and go all the way along the bridge and through the gates. Drop down when you're on a balcony and you will be in front of a tower, where the Old Lord's Talisman is waiting for you. But you didn't think you could just go in and grab it, did you?

Defeat Recusant Bernahl

When you head towards the tower, you will be invaded by Recusant Bernahl. And he is a nasty piece of work. He hits super hard with his huge ass club. He also has some AOE incantations, but most of his attacks have super long wind ups, so pay attention to his animations and you should be able to dodge his attacks. He is also fairly slow, so if you have ranged attacks you can spam him to death. Otherwise keep dodging and chipping away at him until he's down. Once he is gone, you can proceed to the tower without problem and collect the Old Lord's Talisman.

Oh, and also you get his weapon, a super useful item that will help you against the big boss at the end of the area and his armor, which doesn't just look super cool (you can see it in the image at the top of this article), but also very strong. Neat!

Collect The Old Lord's Talisman

Enter the little tower, open the treasure chest inside and pick up the Old Lord's Talisman. That's it! You got the talisman now and I know you're happy about it: This item will increase the duration of a spell by 30%. And that's incredibly strong. It will definitely help you against the many tough bosses in Elden Ring. And if that should not be enough, you should be on the lookout for some of the amazing weapons in the game like the Rivers of Blood.
