Apparently, GTA 6 has been in development hell, ever since Dan Houser left the project. Seriously. Yes, I'm crying too.
[Update, June 29, 2022]
Rockstar fans, particularly GTA fans, just can't catch a break. Honestly, by this point, the game will release in 2030. I'm calling it.
Today, the person that said GTA 6 was struggling, was Tom Henderson. And let me tell you, that's not a good sign. That guy has a track record of getting things right, he said that Dragon Age 4 would be called Dragon Age: Dreadwolf before it was released. Love him for that, by the way.
So if Tom Henderson says that GTA 6 isn't in a good state, it's probably not in a good state.
I still believe the game is releasing in 2024-2025.I'm referring to turbulent because it hasn't been plain sailing just like with every other game in development during COVID etc. People leaving and what-not.

This tweet is an answer to a previous tweet of his where he replies to another tweet (bare with me) about the possible GTA 6 location(s). We can't really trust any leak, not if GTA 6 really is in such a bad state right now.

Another leaker now suggests that GTA 6 in indeed in development hell. Read more about it here: GTA 6 Production is in trouble.
About #GTAVI #GTA6- Some people don't realize how chaotic the development is.- I really think there will be disappointment for many people for some aspects (ofc not the graphic side).- If the game is announced this year / early 2022, we can really be worried.

Hold on, don't start crying just yet... read this, and then weep because it doesn't get better. You know how the GTA 6 release date is rumored to be in 2025 or beyond, right? Well, now it seems that we finally know why: Dan Houser leaving the studio apparently threw the entire development of GTA 6 into what is commonly known as 'development hell'. We know this, thanks to an insider at Rockstar Mag.
More specifically, the writer in question mentions that GTA 6 was originally supposed to get its reveal in 2020, but that obviously didn't come to pass. Apparently, the game has seen numerous story and gameplay-changes ever since 2019, and since the original vision of the Dan Houser was the 'Project Americas' setting that we heard so much about, and which we reported on here:
Ever since, this has evolved drastically, or rather escalated, to the point where the leak' source claims that "this is the most messed up Rockstar production ever." Damn. Double-damn because I loved the Project Americas vision, and though the latest rumors pointed to an international setting, we've also heard plenty about GTA 6 adopting a Fortnite-style evolving map, and becoming a live-service game.
Whatever the case, the simple fact that we have two vastly different versions of GTA 6 circulating, is troubling. Also, the mere fact that Rockstar is re-releasing GTA 5 yet again, and putting all their marketing into the GTA Trilogy Remaster release, makes me think that they're trying to divert our attention from the mess that is GTA 6.
Can you imagine the absolute sh*tstorm that we will witness, if GTA 6 turns into a Cyberpunk-like debacle? I can't, and I don't want to, because I just love GTA too much. Let's hope that Dan Houser leaving Rockstar isn't akin to the situation of Hideo Kojima leaving Konami, because, if it is, we're all f*cked.
