The GTA 6 setting might've just gotten revealed via a job listing: We have serious reason to believe that GTA 6 will have international locations.
Ok, damn. You know how we somehow all think that the location for GTA 6 is Vice City? Well... guess what: Rockstar just posted a job listing that suggests something different entirely. They're looking for somebody to help them map out international locations. Yes, I repeat: International locations, as in outside of the US. Yup...: Damn.
What Is the GTA 6 Location?

Well, would you look at that? A recent tweet states that the GTA 6 locations will indeed be set in South America and Florida. Sure, this is just a leak, but let us pat our shoulders real quick because I love when this happens.
According to the tweet, GTA 6 will be in Miami and Columbia. Would work fantastically well with the GTA 6 story/lore and everything, right?

As you can see, Tom Henderson actually retweeted the original leak and said to take everything with a grain of salt. It's probably not a good sign when somebody like Tom Henderson says that, but we'd really love the game locations to be in these two cities.

Now, a while back, we did an entire video, where we unpacked a massive leak that suggested the location for GTA 6 might be South America and Florida:
It was a massive leak dump, which suggested that the game might actually take place over a time period of decades, and will see you build a drug empire that spans over both North- and South America. The same leak also suggested that you would be playing as both cops and narcos, and that one of the playable characters will be a woman. The latter has since been confirmed, so this definitely gives the leak a lot of credibility. Now, with the aforementioned job listing, it seems that the international location for GTA 6 suggested in the job listing might also be coming true.
While I'm as excited by this as the rest of you, I'll play devil's advocate here for a minute: The job listing was posted in Canada, which, technically, means that international mapping expertise could refer to someone that's familiar with the USA...you know... technically. It's unlikely – and it would be incredibly dumb wording – but it's a possibility.
Is GTA 6 Coming Out?
It might seem like an insane question to even ask if GTA 6 is actually coming out, but if recent rumors are to be believed, then the question has some validity: Rumor has it that GTA 6 is currently undergoing development hell, with a lot of re-structuring of the game's story, gameplay, location, and more. The reason for this is the departure of Dan Houser, which, apparently, threw a wrench into the whole operation. This is arguably the reason why the release date for GTA 6 is getting pushed back further and further, but it's safe to say that, no matter what, GTA 6 will still be released.
Why Is GTA 6 Taking so Long?
Nobody really knows. Certainly, the release of the GTA Trilogy Remaster is eating up a lot of Rockstar's resources and delaying GTA 6. Then, the GTA 5 Enhanced & Expanded Edition is further eating up manpower, plus there is the rumored Red Dead Redemption remaster looming, which will undoubtedly further burden the Rockstar staff. Lastly, there are the aforementioned rumors of a 'GTA 6 development hell', which caused major things like the game's story, location and gameplay to still be up in the air – delaying production significantly.
Is There a GTA 7?
It's still too early to tell, since we're still waiting for news on GTA 6, but if GTA 6 is the game we all think it could be, then there is no doubt in our minds we will see a GTA 7. Though, honestly, by then we might well spell the year 2030+, and it will be a whole new gaming world. Rather than talking about the location that GTA 7 might be set in, we might just be talking about a VR game, which simply uses the real world as its location.
Now that the GTA Trilogy Remaster is garnering all the hype and attention, I am sure we will not be hearing about GTA 6 anytime soon, since Rockstar will know how to stretch out their reveals for maximum effect. But rest assured, when the time does come, and the international setting is revealed, you best believe I'll be here to tell you: I told you so.
