Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Wing Gliders | How To Use Them
When playing Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, it won't take you long until you have to use a Wing Glider for the first time. Since we know the struggle of using this device for the first time, let us give you some tips on how to use it properly.
Wing Gliders are generally used to fly and travel across bigger gaps in the ground or to go from one Sky Island to another. While you are still on the Great Sky Island in the beginning of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you'll find these Gliders after completing the Gutanbac Shrine. In order to reach the Temple of Time easily, you'll need to use a Wing Glider, here is what to do.
Is It Possible To Get Epona In Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom?
Near the Wing Glider, you'll also find a sloping ruin. These ramp-like ruins will make the "takeoff" a lot easier (these are effectively runways). All you need to do is use your Ultrahand ability to place the Wing Glider in the crevice of these sloping ruins. If you place it onto a downward slope, the wing glider will slowly glide along the crevice and then smoothly go over the edge of the island into the air. Just hop on and enjoy the ride.
If you can't find a slope, you can also just use Ultrahand to place the Glider in the air. Make sure you're ready to hop on, because it will start to glide forward as soon as you let go of it. If you were too slow, just use Recall to get it back.
Steering A Wing Glider
You can steer the Glider and control its movement, by positioning yourself correctly on top of the glider.
- To make a left or right turn, just move Link's body weight to the side of the glider that you want it to turn to. (Move right for the glider to make a light right turn)
- To increase the speed and go deeper, move the weight to the front of the Glider
- To rise up and reduce the speed, position Link to the back
How To Attach A Zonai Fan To The Wing Glider
You can give the Wing Glider more speed, by attaching a Zonai fan to it. Just find a nearby fan, or get one out of the gumball machines and attach it to the back of the Glider by using Link's Ultrahand ability. Make sure that the Glider is correctly placed on the slope, hop on, and hit the fan with a weapon to turn it on. Now, the Wing Glider should move forward just by itself.
