Pokémon Legends: Arceus has been a hot topic for debate. This latest leak only adds fire to the discussion.
As a Pokémon fan since childhood, Nintendo can barely do any wrong by me. I will buy any Pokémon game, just because I’ve bought all the others too, Arceus will be no different. The fact that it looks whack or that it feels like a cash grab doesn’t change anything about that. Still, these leaks… even I’m starting to feel like I’ll hate this game.

The leak comes from Riddler Khu, a known Pokémon leaker in the community. He didn’t just leak one, but several details about Arceus that makes fans worry about the game.
- You can’t catch Arceus unless you complete the Hisui Pokédex
- New, overhauled stats system (stats can only be increased with candies)
- No abilities
- No held items
- No breeding
- Legendary Pokémon battles are boss battles
- Some Pokémon will be super hard to find
First off, these are all leaks, nothing of the above has been confirmed yet.
Should all or even just some of these indeed turn out to be true, though, I can see why fans are upset. Catching Arceus only when you completed the Pokédex will take forever (I don’t think I’ve ever managed to complete a Pokédex), abilities are a major part of Pokémon and breeding has been an integral part of the franchise.
Maybe they want to make it more realistic to the era, or maybe they're trying something new. Can't fault them for that... but you have to listen to your fans, right? To your audience? If people love something so dearly... why would you change it?
I truly hope that this isn’t real, otherwise Game Freak will have to do a lot of damage control. If the fans are displeased with the product, the world will know. Better not be a CDPR 2.0 situation, you don’t want that, Game Freak.
