Resident Evil 4 Remake is coming out in a few weeks, but the hype around the game just experienced a big downer, as a wave of pre-orders are being canceled out of nowhere.
People are really hyped for the upcoming Resident Evil 4 Remake , and rightfully so. You should be careful though if you pre-ordered the game, as it looks like some pre-orders for the game are being canceled right now.
Resident Evil 4 Pre-Orders Are Being Canceled
As highlighted by famous Twitter person Wario64, GameStop has issued a memo canceling all in-store pre-orders for the Collector’s Edition of Resident Evil 4. According to them, this doesn’t seem to affect online orders, as these haven’t been mentioned by GameStop.
If you pre-ordered Resident Evil 4 Collector's Edition IN-STORE at GameStop - they just issued a memo stating the CE won't arrive in stores and will not be fulfilled/arriving. Does not mention anything about online orders, so I assume online orders are not affected pic.twitter.com/KUMg4pVdh7

This seemed at first to be mainly an issue in the US, where the special edition is exclusively sold by GameStop. However, users on Reddit have reported claims of this occurring in other countries as well.
The Collector’s Edition includes several special items, like a Leon S. Kennedy state, a steel book, a poster and an art book. GameStop has not given any reason for the cancelations. We can only speculate that there is an issue with manufacturing regarding the bonus goodies.
What a bummer though. Let’s hope whatever issue is going on right now can be fixed quick, so that fans can enjoy the upcoming demo and have a good time on March 24, when Resident Evil 4 releases for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
