Starfield: Time To Decide To Side Either The US SysDef Or The Crimson Fleet
Be mindful before you make a decision and support a group without knowing what benefits they offer.
Side With Crimson Fleet
If you decide to side with the Crimson Fleet, these are the benefits you will get access to:
- 250,000 Credits
- Access to the Key
- No fights against the pirates in the Crimson Fleet territory
- Easier smuggling missions
- On bad terms with UC SysDef
During the "Eye of the Storm" quest, you need to defend The Key from the UC SysDef. The strength of this attack vary based on how much intel you gathered and fed them in your previous missions.
If you know from the start you want to join the Crimson Fleet, don't give the UC too much information, so the fight will become a lot easier.
Side With UC SysDef
If you decide to side with the UC SysDef, these are the benefits you will get access to:
- 250,000 Credits
- Access to the Vigilance
- Approval of Constellation companions
- On bad terms with Crimson Fleet
- Need to fight off every pirate you meet
In the "Eye of the Storm" mission, your goal is to defeat The Key and put an end to the Crimson Fleet once and for all. To do this, you must disable three big lasers protecting the base you want to sneak into. Either defeat Delgado or persuade him to surrender, and your mission will be complete.
Overall, the best faction to choose from is indeed the Crimson Fleet. You get access to the Key with various stores and enjoy a smoother experience without needing to confront their forces.
With that being said, the distinctions aren't huge, but they do matter when you're choosing how challenging your journey should become.
