Final Fantasy 16 is getting two new story DLCs "soon", giving us more reasons to explore Valisthea and have even more fun with the game. But is there any information about when these DLCs will be released and what they will be about? We've gathered all the info you need!
It's been already several weeks since the official release of Final Fantasy 16. Some of you already finished the game, others are still playing and others again are waiting for the official PC release that got recently announced.
Nonetheless, creator Naoki Yoshida, also known as Yoshi-P announced that the development team is already working hard on two additional story DLCs for the 16th installment!
But when does the DLCs will be released and which content can we look forward to? Let's take a look at all the information we have!
We'll update this article if the devs announce something new!
Final Fantasy 16 DLC: Speculated Content
We don't have a lot of information about what to expect, but there are still some intriguing details hidden in the announcement. For example, we know the content will revolve around a long requested wish from fans around the globe. Although the finer details are shrouded in mystery.
Additionally, Yoshi-P mentioned during an interview in July that he'd like us to play as Cid in a future DLC:
Personally, I would make Cid playable. He is such an interesting character with his complex life and background story. This is not a business decision, but more a personal and creative decision to make him playable in a future content update.
Now that's something I am definitely looking forward to!
Final Fantasy 16 DLC: Release Date Estimate
At the time of writing, there is no official news on when the DLC for Final Fantasy 16 will be released. But if I had to hazard a guess, then I would assume the DLCs will be released somewhere around late 2024, with the PC release in mind.
That's everything for the time being. There is hope we will get more information about the Final Fantasy 16 story DLCs during the Tokyo Game Show (September 21 - 24, 2023).
